Poppy’s is not just your average hamburger joint! Poppy’s is a farm to table meal experience that specializes in grass fed burgers. We source from Hudson Valley farms whenever possible and keep your dollars local. We are happy to have supported Hudson Valley organic farms for the past five years, employ 5 full time employees and make our home in the beautiful city of Beacon, NY.

We have stayed true to our mission since the day we opened our doors. Since we source so much of our food from Hudson Valley organic farms, the price point is a bit higher BUT your consumer dollars are staying within the Hudson Valley helping to support farms and local suppliers. Your support helps us to support our farming community and Beacon, NY.

Why Grass Fed Beef?
Grass fed beef is not only a leaner choice of meat, but also contains a higher percentage of omega fatty acids. Grass fed cattle live in open farmland and eat grass, which their bodies process with ease. It has a distinct, clean flavor that melts in your mouth. We source from Sugar Hill Farm, Grayson Family Farm & J.Conover Farm.

Explain my gluten free options?
We don’t have gluten free rolls at this time since we haven’t found the perfect fit yet! We will, however, prepare your burger without the bun and serve it over organic Hudson Valley grown Asian greens and homemade coleslaw. Additionally, our fries and chips are gluten free and so are our rice bowls. You can also order the salad without the croutons.

Why are your burgers cooked medium?
Grass fed beef has less fat content to it than your normal grain fed beef that you might find at the grocery store. To ensure a better flavor, the burger tastes best medium or medium rare, so that the beef does not dry out.

What kind of oil do you use?
We use 100% vegetable oil.

Where is your produce from?
Our produce is organic and local and from the Hudson Valley whenever possible. We source most of it from Obercreek Farm in Hughsonville, NY and Common Ground Farm in Fishkill, NY.

Restaurant Review

The word is Lots of raves for the veggie burger and Poppy's delicious grass fed beef burgers. Be prepared for a totally "no frills" experience with food wrapped in foil and served in a paper bag (adds to the experience). "For me, the grass-fed burger, prepared to perfection with delicious sweet potato chips, was worth the trip from Westchester County."

On a warm day buy the burgers and eat out at one of the parks along the Hudson in Beacon, New York.
